Notes on the examination/treatment
Preparation:
- The most optimal time to perform treatments is from autumn to spring.
- The skin undergoing the treatment cannot be tanned, therefore you should not sunbathe or use self-tanners for 30 days before the treatment; a fresh tan is a contraindication to the treatment.
-
Do not use:
- preparations containing vitamin A (retinol), C, E (1 week before the procedure),
- Accutane, Tretinoin, Isotretinoin for a period of 6 months,
- creams, ointments and medicines containing steroids (1 week before the procedure),
- medicines: aspirin, polopiryna, Acard, Polocard and other medicines containing acetylsalicylic acid (7 days before the procedure),
- photosensitizing medicines, e.g. antibiotics (1 month before the procedure),
- non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and analgesic ointments such as: Ketonal, Ketoprofen, Ibuprom, Nurofen and Furagina (7 days before the procedure). - Do not take herbs and dietary supplements containing herbs such as St. John's wort, calendula, horsetail (14 days before the procedure).
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding are contraindications to the procedure.
- The procedure should not be performed during an active bacterial or viral infection of the skin – including a cold sore! The procedure can be performed after the infection has healed.
- 7 days before the planned treatment, do not perform other exfoliating treatments, such as microdermabrasion and chemical peels.
- Botox should not be performed for at least 3 weeks before the procedure if the treatment area is the face.
- You should not drink alcohol on the last 24 hours before the procedure.
- You should inform the doctor performing the procedure about all medications you are taking, about any tendency to cold sores and about any possible allergy to anesthetics (lignocaine, tetracaine).
Post-treatment recommendations for safety and maintaining the treatment effect:
- You should not sunbathe for 4 weeks after the treatment.
- For one month after the treatment, protect your skin from sunlight by using creams with SPF 50 or more – as recommended by your doctor.
- If the epidermis is damaged during the procedure, do not apply makeup to the treated area for approximately 1-2 days. If the epidermis is not damaged, makeup can be applied the next day.
- For several days (approximately 4-5 days) after the procedure, you should avoid exfoliating, other treatments, saunas, swimming pools, or drinking alcohol, which dilates blood vessels. Physical exertion should also be avoided.
- For a few days after the treatment, do not use preparations containing alcohol, e.g. alcohol-based facial toners.
How often do we perform treatments?
- The effect is visible after just one treatment, but sometimes the patient requires a full course of therapy, and the number of treatments is determined individually.
- During a series of treatments, the interval between treatments is usually 4 weeks.
What does the skin look like after the treatment?
- In the case of facial vascular closure, photorejuvenation, discoloration reduction, acne treatment, and redness treatment, the treatment area may become swollen and red. In some cases, this swelling may persist for up to 2-3 days. The procedure itself is painless and does not require anesthesia. Thanks to an advanced cooling system, the sensation of burning and heat is minimized.
- After discoloration is reduced, the pigmented lesions darken and then peel off - this is the desired post-treatment effect.
